Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act on your favorite ShoreRivers tributary! This September, ShoreRivers Riverkeepers will each host a paddle within their watershed- open for any community member to register. These 2-hour events are open for 16 paddlers, ages 10 and up. Paddlers can bring their own kayak or use gear provided by ShoreRivers (ShoreRivers kayaks and gear are available for up to 10 people).
Join the Choptank Riverkeeper, Matt Pluta, for an urban-style paddle along the Choptank River and up Cambridge Creek in the heart of downtown Cambridge. Matt will discuss the status of the creek and river's water quality while talking about pressing issues like shoreline resilience, wastewater collection issues, and polluted runoff from urban landscapes.
