State of the Miles, Wye, and Choptank Rivers

  • Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum 213 North Talbot Street Saint Michaels, MD, 21663 United States (map)

ShoreRivers will host the State of the Rivers at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) in Saint Michaels, Maryland.

Come see your Choptank Riverkeeper, Matt Pluta and Miles/Wye Riverkeeper, Elle Bassett! This is an opportunity for the community to learn about the health and challenges of our local waterways and how the most recent grades compare to previous years. Our staff will also discuss other current programs being undertaken in 2022.

The party will be held in CBMM’s Small Boat Shed, where guests can discover the re-created interior of a crab-picking plant and small, locally-built craft used around the Chesapeake Bay for fishing, oystering, and crabbing. Family friendly activities will be available for children ages 6 - 12, including a crafting table to create water gratitude charms! Doors open at 5:30pm for a reception of wine, beer, and light appetizers. The formal presentation will begin at 6:00 pm. This event is free - no registration needed!
